Manchester United make a decision on Rashford’s future after each managerial candidate says the same thing

Marcus Rashford knows what Manchester United will do about his future this summer, according to a report that explains why his relationship with the club has reached a “new low.”

Rashford, 24, has endured a dreadful season in which he has only five goals and two assists in all competitions.

That is a far cry from the 20+ goals he had scored in each of the previous two seasons entering this year.

According to ESPN, Manchester United believes Rashford’s poor season was caused by a lack of a proper pre-season.

According to their sources, United staff believed Rashford would regain form following the recent international break.

After being snubbed by Gareth Southgate, the forward was given a rare mid-season break, and improving his match sharpness was priority number one.

Despite being the only fit striker in the squad, Rashford was not selected for the match against Leicester.

Bruno Fernandes was chosen as the line’s false nine once more. On March 6, the Portuguese did the same against Manchester City, also at Rashford’s expense.

According to the Sun, Rashford was ‘considering quitting’ Old Trafford as a result of those two snubs.

Despite his poor performance, he would arouse widespread interest both within and outside of England.

Atletico Madrid, PSG, and Barcelona are mentioned as possible destinations by the outlet.

Despite his reservations about his position at United, Rashford has been assured that he will continue to play an important role after the summer.

If reports are to be believed, Manchester United are set to appoint Erik ten Hag as their next manager.

He, like every other managerial candidate United spoke with, told the club that if they were to get the job, Rashford should not be sold.

The Sun cite a source that stated: “Marcus is having a really tough time this season. Especially in the games where he has not started even though United didn’t have another striker available.

“It’s happened a couple of times, so he is concerned that Ralf Rangnick just doesn’t fancy him.

“But the club have let him know that the contenders for the manager’s job have told them that he is a vital asset to the club. And that he would still figure strongly in their plans to rebuild.

“So now Marcus is just staying calm.”
