“Manchester United are the opposite” Gary Neville makes Tottenham admission in Man United dig

Manchester United are “the  opposite” of Tottenham, according to Gary Neville, who listed the numerous ways in which Spurs are better positioned than the crisis club.

United sunk to a new low on Saturday, losing 4-0 to Brentford, with all four goals coming in the first half.

United are now bottom of the Premier League table, with new manager Erik ten Hag having lost his first two games in charge.

During the game, old quotes from Neville surfaced in which he stated that Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte would not be a good fit at United.

Speaking on Sky Sports after the match, pundit Jamie Redknapp recalled those quotes, telling Neville: “You didn’t want to touch him, but he would have come in and got those players in a better shape than they are now.”

In light of Neville’s ongoing criticism of the Glazers’ ownership of United, the conversation moved on to Spurs owner Daniel Levy.

Speaking about Levy: “He has built an unbelievable stadium that people want to come and play in – the best in the world – he’s got the best training ground in the country, he’s appointed a fantastic sporting director who knows what he’s doing and he’s now got a manager who suits what they want to do at this moment in time.

“Manchester United are the opposite of that.”

Tottenham will face Chelsea on Sunday in an attempt to reclaim first spot in the Premier League, while United will face Liverpool.
