Manchester United and France welcome positive injury update on Raphael Varane
Manchester United and France have deliver positive injury news on Raphael Varane.
22 October at Stamford Bridge, during United’s 1-1 with Chelsea, Varane had to be replaced.
Many believed that the Frenchman’s hopes of qualifying for the 2022 FIFA World Cup had been dashed when he was pulled off the field in the 60th minute with what appeared to be a catastrophic injury.
However, his damage is not as severe as was thought at first. The former Real Madrid superstar has a femoral bicep lesion in his hamstring.
Raphaël Varane's injury is less serious than first feared. He has a lesion of the femoral bicep (hamstring). If he is selected for France's World Cup squad, he would probably miss the first match against Australia [@ddubras]

Varane has played 11 times for Manchester United so far this season and has been instrumental to the Red Devils’ success.
He has been a key member of Didier Deschamps’ French team for many years.
Les Bleus will defend their championship in Qatar, and Varane’s availability could be essential to their chances of success.
Even if he is selected, Deschamps may not be able to select him for France’s opening match against Australia.
On Saturday, October 22nd, Manchester United snatched a point in a dramatic Premier League match against Chelsea. Jorginho scored a penalty to give the Blues the lead in the 87th minute.
Casemiro scored a match-tying goal in the fourth minute of stoppage time to salvage a point for his club.
After the game, Ten Hag told the media that his squad deserved the point for their performance (via manutd.com):
“I think it was a good game. In the first half, we dominated the game. But also, that is why the opponent switched their system. And they made it a little more difficult for us, like we saw in the last minutes of the first half. In the second half, I think it was even. It was a battle between two teams of the same height. And in the end, I think a point was justified.”
“It was deserved. It was tough, when you get so short for time, you get 1-0 down, I think it is really difficult after the fourth game in 10 days to fight back. But the team found their energy and their strength and fought back. And that’s really big for this team.”
