Manchester City ‘put two of its crucial squad members up for sale.’

Riyad Mahrez and Raheem Sterling emerge as shock players whom City could sacrifice in the upcoming transfer window.
Mahrez has been excellent in recent weeks, especially in the Champions League semi-final against Paris Saint-Germain, but City would contemplate moving him if the deal was right.
Others in the squad who are vulnerable are striker Gabriel Jesus and center-back Aymeric Laporte.
Arsenal are perceived to have an attention in Sterling and Mahrez. Gunner’s boss Mikel Arteta worked with both stars during his time at City under Guardiola. But there must be uncertainty over Arsenal’s capacity to land either player given their financial demands and lack of European football.

Barcelona and Real Madrid have a long-term interest in Sterling. Man city will need funds to make their own signings, with Sportsmail reporting yesterday that £100million-rated Jack Grealish is their No 1 midfield target.
They are also on the path of England captain Harry Kane.
There is a perception that City must shave their squad to pursue Kane and Grealish but it will still come as a shock that Sterling has a price.
Despite commanding 14 goals and 12 assists in all competitions this season, Sterling has squandered his spot in Pep Guardiola’s starting lineup and is anticipated to be named on the bench for Saturday’s Champions League final.
Meanwhile, Mahrez recently downplayed rumors of a possible departure and has played an outstanding role in Man City’s road to Porto, but with the Algerian turning 31 next year, his future is not thought to be completely safe.
