Chelsea FC who are unbeaten in their nine games under Thomas Tuchel have missed out on a chance to go into the top four, while Ole Gunnar’s Manchester United’s hopes of catching leaders Manchester City suffered a blow after a barren draw at Stamford Bridge. Manchester City now commands a 12 points lead, thanks to a 2-1 hard-fought win against Westham on Saturday.
Leicester City who were still in the race dropped all three points against the Gunners after losing 3-1 in a game that saw them score first but couldn’t withstand the pressure. A win could have taken them at the second position on 52 points which could have reduced the gap to 10 points.

After a barren draw between Chelsea and Manchester United, the hope of snatching the title from Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City is starting to fade for Manchester United who at one point were seen as serious contenders. A 0-0 draw against Chelsea was the fifth goalless draw for the Ole Gunnar’s team against the ‘big six’ opposition from seven fixtures, a statistic that includes each of their last four.
The Red Devils have to be clinical moving forward if they are to pose any serious challenge against their bitter city rivals. The two teams meet on Sunday with City getting a chance to extend the lead or United grabbing that chance to reduce the gap and proof their title credentials.
With Manchester United enjoying away unbeaten run, a game with Manchester City at Etihad will be an acid test for the Red Devils. Manchester City is not only unbeaten in 20 games but also has 100% winning streak in those 20 matches, a statistic that should worry any manager facing it.
The last time United were on top of the premier league table was as of January 20th. A win against Mancity will give them a boost they require to regain the top spot and bag the premier league title for the first time since 2013.
