Man Utd’s scary XI if Elon Musk buys club for £4.5bn and spends £161m

Man Utd’s scary XI if Elon Musk buys club for £4.5bn and spends £161m

There could be significant changes at  Manchester United  if Elon Musk acquires the club, and Erik ten Hag may lead the overhaul during the upcoming summer transfer window.

According to reports, Musk is keeping an eye on the situation at Old Trafford as the deadline to buy the club approaches.

Manchester United has had a strong start to the season, currently sitting in third place in the Premier League. While they made some big purchases during the summer transfer window, their recent business was more concise.

However, manager Erik ten Hag is reportedly planning some major moves at the end of the season. If Elon Musk buys the club from the Glazers, ten Hag would have an unprecedented budget to work with.

Musk, the second-richest person in the world according to Forbes, is considering a move for United before the Friday deadline. While he has taken on significant projects in the past, acquiring a football club would be a new milestone in his career.

SportsDias examines how Manchester United might line up next season if Elon Musk becomes their new owner…

Goalkeeper: Diogo Costa

Erik ten Hag wants David de Gea to extend his contract at Manchester United, but if negotiations stall, the club may consider other options. One such option is Diogo Costa, a goalkeeper from Porto who has been linked with the Red Devils.

Signing Costa would be a long-term investment, and his current Transfermarkt value of £30.9 million could be within reach for Elon Musk’s budget.

Defence: Denzel Dumfries, Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw

Although Manchester United’s defense has been performing well this season, Erik ten Hag may have the resources to strengthen his right-back options.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka has been facing some challenges, so Ten Hag could potentially acquire another option in that position.

Inter Milan is reportedly looking to offload some players in the upcoming summer transfer window, which could provide United with the opportunity to sign Denzel Dumfries.

Dumfries would offer competition for Diogo Dalot at fullback and could also play in a more attacking position if needed.

Midfield: Frenkie De Jong, Casemiro, Bruno Fernandes

Erik ten Hag may have the opportunity to persuade his long-term target Frenkie de Jong to join him at Manchester United if there is a compelling plan in place.

Barcelona has previously expressed a desire to offload the Dutch midfielder, and the upcoming summer transfer window could be the right time for United to strike a deal.

If De Jong were to join United and play alongside Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes, the club would have a high-quality and well-balanced midfield.

Forwards: Marcus Rashford, Victor Osimhen, Ansu Fati

Marcus Rashford has been in exceptional form for Manchester United this season, but Erik ten Hag may still be keen to bring in a marquee striker over the summer.

Burnley loanee Wout Weghorst is currently filling that role, but Ten Hag may want a more permanent solution. Victor Osimhen has been linked with United in the past, but his current club, Napoli, has stated that they are not interested in selling him.

However, the right offer could potentially change their mind. Another player on United’s radar is Barcelona’s Ansu Fati, who has fallen out of favor at the Camp Nou.

Fati is a talented player, and Ten Hag’s success with Rashford could give the young Spaniard confidence that he could develop his game further at United.
