Man Utd’s ‘leaked’ XI for Southampton clash emerges as Casemiro decision made

The starting lineup for Manchester United’s match against Southampton has reportedly leaked online.

And, despite Casemiro’s £60 million move from Real Madrid, it appears Erik ten Hag is willing to take a risk by leaving him on the bench.

Instead, the Dutchman is said to be sticking with the same squad that defeated Liverpool last time out.

Manchester United recently signed Real Madrid’s Casemiro.

Fans hoping to see the Brazil international from the start will be disappointed, according to  @TeamNewsandticks, who claims the Samba star will start the match on the bench.

That puts David De Gea in goal, with the Spain international hoping for his first clean sheet of the season at St Mary’s.

In defence, Diogo Dalot, Lisandro Martinez, Raphael Varane, and Tyrell Malacia are expected to start.

Scott McTominay and Christian Eriksen will play alongside each other in midfield, with Bruno Fernandes playing further ahead.

Jadon Sancho and Anthony Elanga start in front of Marcus Rashford.

United will be looking for their second win of the season, especially after their impressive performance against Liverpool last time out.

However, they face a Southampton team that held them to 1-1 draws both at home and away last season.

It will not be easy for the Red Devils, who are hoping to qualify for the Champions League next season.

When asked if United now need to keep their feet on the ground, Ten Hag warned players that they must produce more consistent results.

“Of course we can take the confidence from that game,” he said.

“When you beat Liverpool – I’ve said before that they were the best playing team in the world last year, then this is clearly a magnificent performance [from us].

“But also we knew the week before Brentford and again for this game [against Southampton] that it’s the same.

“We have to learn from that [Liverpool] game and I’m really curious of what we will present [on Saturday], but I’m really confident that if we do the same as we did against Liverpool and we have the same attitude, fighting spirit and team cooperation then we have to win.”
