Man Utd wrapped up huge new contract as Fabrizio Romano delivers the ‘Here we go’ seal of approval

Manchester United are said to have signed Bruno Fernandes to a new deal, binding him to the club for another five years and providing him with a substantial income increase in the process.

United are gearing up for what will most certainly be the most crucial summer in the club’s history.

They are currently interviewing for a new manager, with Mauricio Pochettino and Erik Ten Hag being the frontrunners.

Whoever is appointed will be the club’s seventh permanent manager since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement in 2013.

And the incoming manager will be tasked with closing the gap on Liverpool and Manchester City at the top of the table.

United is in the process of selecting whether players will stay or depart, with a lot of work going on behind the scenes.

To that end, a recent report mentioned 11 players who are expected to go, including several prominent names.

Fernandes, on the other hand, appears to be someone they want to keep.

Since his January 2020 move to Old Trafford, the footballer has been United’s best and most consistent star.

Fernandes has 49 goals in 117 outings for Manchester United, a fantastic number for a midfielder.

Indeed, there have been instances in the last two years when Fernandes has carried United through games on his own. To that reason, he’s perhaps been their most consistent star, alongside David De Gea.

It’s safe to assume that United’s initial £47 million investment has been repaid in full.

Fernandes joined the Red Devils on a five-and-a-half-year contract that has little over three years left on it.

United, on the other hand, is eager to reward the player for his outstanding growth — and double his money in the process.

Talks in this regard have been ongoing for several months.

Fabrizio Romano, a trusted transfer guru, has now given the new transaction the ‘Here we go’ stamp of approval.

The term is only used by the Italian when he is satisfied that an agreement is 100 percent certain.

According to sources, Fernandes will sign a two-year extension to his contract, keeping him at the club until 2027.

Furthermore, the Portuguese star’s weekly income will be more than doubled, from £100,000 to close to £200,000.

This puts him in the upper echelon of United’s top earnings.

Given that United do not yet know who their next manager will be, the news may come as a surprise.

Some have speculated that the new coach might not be able to fit Fernandes into his lineup.

This was undoubtedly Rio Ferdinand’s concern when he discussed the topic earlier this week.

His concerns appear to have been alleviated now that the new agreement appears to be signed and sealed.

As a result, United website  Stretty News says that the contract for Bruno Fernandes will be publicly disclosed in the coming days.
