Man Utd supporters hijack club Twitter account post to demand Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sack
Even when his Manchester United players appear to be enjoying themselves in training, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer cannot escape calls for his dismissal.
The Red Devils appeared to be in good spirits as they arrived for a day session at United’s Carrington training complex.
Solskjaer was on the field leading a session with players who had not been called up for international duty during the two-week domestic break.
Among those players was out-of-favour midfielder Donny van de Beek, who was overlooked by Netherlands manager Louis van Gaal due to a lack of playing time at club level.
Despite being frozen out of Solskjaer’s first team, the Dutchman appeared unconcerned as he joked with his teammates.
He was joined by fellow outcasts Juan Mata and Nemanja Matic, who have only made brief appearances from the bench for the club in recent times.
Mason Greenwood joined the group after being left out of Gareth Southgate’s England squad for World Cup qualifiers against Andorra and Hungary.
The post was captioned “Grafting with a smile” and was shared on the official Manchester United Twitter account.
However, astute United fans noticed, it was only Van de Beek who was caught on camera smiling.

Some users then used the opportunity to express their displeasure with Solskjaer’s management, with several visible replies containing the phrase “Ole out” and using the hashtag ‘#SackOle’.
“Once upon a time, seeing the boys training gave [sic] me so much hope and optimism, these days not so much,” another user wrote.
Despite signing his three top transfer targets this summer, Solskjaer has come under fire for a string of poor performances from his team.
The Norwegian signed Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho, and Raphael Varane, with United tipped to challenge for their first Premier League title since 2012-13.
The Red Devils have had a solid start to the season, winning four of their first seven games.
However, following consecutive defeats against Young Boys in the Champions League and West Ham in the Carabao Cup, Solskjaer drew criticism from some United fans.
Ronaldo’s stoppage-time winner in the 2-1 win over Villarreal took some of the sting out of Solskjaer’s side’s performance.
But his position was called into question again when he left Ronaldo on the bench for Everton’s 1-1 draw, with the Portuguese pictured walking down the tunnel alone after the final whistle.
However, it is believed that his job is not in jeopardy because the club extended the contract of his assistant, Mike Phelan, until 2024.
The club recently handed Solskjaer a new contract that runs until the same date as Phelan’s, implying that United fans will have to make do with their manager for the time being.
