Man Utd star Luke Shaw sends Leicester warning with an impressive assessment of Jadon Sancho
After a successful camp with England, Luke Shaw feels Jadon Sancho is ready to strike the ground running at Manchester United after the international break.
After grabbing the eye at St George’s Park and in the 5-0 win against Andorra, the £72 million player has struggled to recreate his explosive form with Borussia Dortmund since arriving at Old Trafford.
However, his team-mate Shaw is confident Sancho is ready to flourish.
The 21-year-old has failed to score for United in six appearances, and his poor form has seen him in and out of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad.
Sancho’s club and country teammate Shaw, on the other hand, believes he will flourish when he returns from international service because of the confidence he showed while with England.
“The most important thing for him that he gained out of that game [against Andorra] was probably confidence,” Shaw told United’s official website.
“I think it’s not been easy for him at the start here. It normally never is, but in games like that against opposition like that it’s sort of a good game to be involved in, of course, to get minutes, but [also] to build your confidence back up.
“I can definitely see that in Jadon. I’ve been with him at England camp and he looked happy, he looked positive after that game.
“He’s kept that attitude when he’s come back here and he’s looking happy and ready to go again. He’s looking sharp and he’s always looked sharp. I can see in his eyes he’s ready.”
Sancho has not yet been deployed in his preferred right-wing position by Solskjaer, who has instead shifted him to the left.
With Marcus Rashford set to return from a lengthy injury layoff, Sancho will be under even more pressure to impress in order to cement his spot in the starting lineup.
