Man United target Antony begins house hunting for Old Trafford move after ‘agreeing five-year contract’

Wantaway According to reports, Ajax star Antony is already house hunting in Manchester after agreeing a five-year contract with Erik ten Hag’s side.

Antony has been on Manchester United’s radar all summer. Ten Hag wishes to reunite with the Brazilian, who scored 12 goals and provided 10 assists for Ajax last season.

Last week, the Red Devils’ £72.3 million bid was rejected by the Dutch champions, casting doubt on a move.

However, according to Telegraaf,  Manchester United are set to make another bid for Antony worth £76 million, with the possibility of increasing it to £80 million, today (24th August).

The 22-year-old wants to move to Old Trafford and has handed in a transfer request after effectively going on strike and missing their game against Sparta Rotterdam on Sunday.

It is believed that the former Sao Paulo player has agreed to a five-year contract extension with United until 2027.

According to the report, Antony’s representatives are already looking for a home in the Manchester area in preparation for his move to Old Trafford.

All that remains for the 13-time Premier League champions is to reach an agreement with Ajax. Antony’s current stance may make this easier.

According to The Athletic, the player’s representatives have remained in London to finalise a deal, giving hope that the summer-long transfer saga will soon be over.

With a deal for Antony nearing completion, United’s reported interest in PSV star Cody Gakpo has cooled as the club focuses on signing the Brazilian.

Antony hinted at a possible departure from the club in an interview with De Telegraaf last week.

He said: “What I can say is that I want to come to the right decision with my family, business partners and Ajax, which is good for everyone. In the end, God determines my future.”

Asked if he could guarantee his stay with the Eredivisie club, he added: “No, to be perfectly honest, I can’t.”
