Man United inclined to seal two new signings following Romano update
Paul Robinson has tipped Manchester United to possibly sign two new midfielders before the end of the transfer window.
The former Spurs goalkeeper, articulating exclusively to Football Insider, cast doubts over the futures of Donny van de Beek and Jesse Lingard.
ournalist Fabrizio Romano tweeted on Tuesday (August 24th) Manchester United have joined Chelsea in the race for Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez.
Romano claims Eduardo Camavinga is also on the Red Devils’ shortlist.
Saul, 26, is engaged to Atleti until 2026 and was part of the midfield which won La Liga last season.
Since his debut in 2012, the Spain international has played 339 matches in all competitions – notching 43 times.

Robinson believes that United need to add capable bodies in midfield – which is currently supplemented by a faltering Van de Beek and an ageing Nemanja Matic.

“I think United will strengthen in midfield,” he told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs.
“Van de Beek hasn’t been the right fit at United. He’s struggled and hasn’t played particularly well when he has managed to get on the pitch.
“But we’ve seen that over the years with players coming to Man United – with Memphis Depay for example.
“Manchester United is a huge club and some people struggle.
“They will be looking at the midfield area as one they need to strengthen in order to be in contention.
“Jesse Lingard’s departure could also free up another position.”
Netherlands international Van de Beek joined Manchester United from Ajax last summer in a settlement worth a potential £40million.
He was restricted to just 19 Premier League appearances, starting just four league matches.
