Man City surpasses Barcelona to become the second largest football brand, as Manchester United falls

Manchester City’s brand has become the second largest in the world.

The Premier League champions have surpassed Barcelona and are second only to Real Madrid in terms of the overall amount of merchandise sales and sponsorships.

Liverpool is in fourth place, while Manchester United has fallen to fifth.

Under Sheikh Mansour’s ownership, City’s ascent up the brand value rankings demonstrates their growth.

Since the Glazer family took ownership, the most recent estimates from  SportsLens.com reflect the collapse of its Manchester competitors.

Man City’s brand value is estimated to be £1.15 billion, up 18% from the previous year.

At £1.32 billion, Real Madrid is far ahead, with a yearly increase of 19.5%. This has been aided by their Champions League victory last season, their sixth in nine years.

However, Barcelona fell to third place with moderate growth of 5% to £1.13 billion.

After reaching three Champions League finals in five years, Liverpool’s brand worth rose by 30 percent to £1.1 billion. United States’s is $1,09 billion.

In 2022, the Premier League’s brand is estimated to be worth £7.46 billion, according to a poll conducted by Brand Finance.

This year, La Liga grossed £3.56 billion, followed by the Bundesliga at £2.69 billion and Serie A at £1.56 billion.

Real Madrid, Manchester City, Barcelona, Liverpool, and Manchester United are the five most valuable football club brands in the world.
