Kevin De Bruyne, who represents Belgium internationally and plays for Manchester City, has acknowledged that his team does not stand a chance of winning the World Cup in Qatar.

Although the European squad is now rated second in the FIFA World Rankings and is considered to be one of the teams with the best chance of winning the World Cup this year, De Bruyne is of the opinion that his team is too old to be successful in Qatar.

When asked if Belgium has a chance to win the World Cup, the star player for Man City gave the following response in an interview with the Guardian: “No chance, we’re too old.”

This is a point that has been raised by many pundits and fans when judging the prospects that the Red Devils will have in Qatar, and it definitely appeared to be the case in the opening match that the European squad played against Canada.

In the opening match of the World Cup, Belgium defeated Canada by a score of 1-0, however they did not put on a convincing performance as the Canadians deserved at least a point.

Despite the fact that this team is considered to be the most talented ever produced in their nation, they have been unsuccessful in recent competitions.

Their last chance to bring home a trophy for Belgium is at this year’s World Cup, but their first game showed that their best days may be behind them. De Bruyne appears to share this sentiment, as he appears to agree with it.
