Luis Enrique could lure four former players to join him if he takes Tottenham job
According to reports, Luis Enrique, the former manager of Barcelona and Spain, is apparently willing to consider taking over from Antonio Conte at Tottenham when his contract expires at the end of the season.
As there is an increasing likelihood that Conte will not extend his stay at the club, Spurs are exploring potential replacements, including Enrique, Mauricio Pochettino, and Thomas Tuchel.
Enrique is said to be interested in a job in the Premier League and if chosen, he may bring along four exciting players that he already has a relationship with.
SportsDias has examined some potential new signings for Spurs in this scenario.
David Raya

Enrique’s confidence in Brentford goalkeeper David Raya is evident, as he selected him for the Spain World Cup squad over Manchester United’s David De Gea last year and gave him his debut for the national team a year ago.
With Tottenham possibly seeking a replacement for their 36-year-old captain Hugo Lloris this summer, Raya may be a potential candidate as he could be departing Brentford.
Despite rejecting multiple contract extension offers, Raya’s current agreement with the west London club expires in 2024. He is rumored to be looking for a move to a top club and may reunite with Enrique at Tottenham.
Aymeric Laporte
During Enrique’s tenure as the manager of the Spanish national team, Manchester City’s Aymeric Laporte chose to decline an opportunity to play for the French national team and instead obtained Spanish nationality.
Despite being a talented 28-year-old centre-back, Laporte’s future with Pep Guardiola’s team is unclear.
According to previous reports from The Athletic, Laporte is one of the players at Manchester City who is uncertain about his future at the club. He has reportedly been dissatisfied with his playing time as Guardiola has a variety of other defenders to choose from, including Nathan Ake, Ruben Dias, John Stones and Manuel Akanji.
If Clement Lenglet is unable to secure a permanent loan deal, Tottenham may be in need of a left-sided defender, and Laporte would be a significant acquisition for the team under Enrique’s leadership.
Fabian Ruiz

Another player who made his debut under Enrique for the Spanish national team is Fabian Ruiz. As a midfielder for Paris Saint-Germain, he could provide some much-needed creativity to the Tottenham midfield under Enrique’s guidance.
Enrique has predominantly employed a 4-3-3 formation in recent years, which implies that acquiring new midfielders during the summer transfer window will be necessary. PSG, on the other hand, may be willing to sell the 26-year-old as they seek to reduce their wage bill and already have numerous central midfield options at the club.
Adama Traore
Adama Traore is a player who has been linked with Tottenham in the past, and Enrique has a personal connection to the player as he gave him his national team debut with Spain and also coached him during his youth at Barcelona.
With Arnaut Danjuma unlikely to be signed permanently following his limited appearances since his loan move in January, Spurs may be in the market for another forward. Traore’s contract with Wolves is set to expire at the end of the season, making him a potential free transfer target for Spurs to finally secure their long-standing interest in him and reunite him with Enrique.
