Liverpool transfer round-up: Reds ‘plot’ Juventus raid, £17m fee agreed, Asensio transfer explained

According to Liverpool sources, the Reds are satisfied with their transfer business this summer, as well as their entire roster, and will not spend any more money or bring anyone else into the club ahead of next season.

Despite this, sources in Italy believe that Jurgen Klopp’s team is ‘planning’ a double swoop for both Adrien Rabiot and Matthijs de Ligt from Juventus in order to improve their alternatives.

In other news, Nottingham Forest have finally agreed on a fee for Neco Williams.

Liverpool ‘plotting’ Juventus raid

Liverpool are thought to be unlikely to bring in any more new faces this summer, having been satisfied with their transfer activity thus far, but the latest rumours in Italy suggest otherwise, with the Reds reportedly preparing up a £102 million double swoop.

According to  Paisley Gates and La Gazzetta Dello Sport, Matthijs de Ligt and Adrien Rabiot are targets for Liverpool this summer, with the Reds linked with a double swoop for the two Juventus players.

Liverpool have already been touted witha player-swap deal with the Serie A giants including Naby Keita and Rabiot, and there have been prior rumours of a potential De Ligt departure. Both, however, could be on their way to Anfield.

£17m Williams fee approved

Following the announcement that Liverpool have agreed to terms with Nottingham Forest to sign Neco Williams this summer, it has now been rumoured that the Premier League newcomers will pay just under £20 million for his services.

According to The Echo, a fee of £17 million has been agreed upon, with the Reds earlier thought to be holding out for £15 million plus add-ons for the young right back.

Personal terms, however, must still be agreed upon with the player.

Williams had a successful loan spell at Fulham in the second half of last season, and Calvin Ramsay’s arrival on Merseyside this summer has given him the option to leave the club.

Liverpool deny interest in Asensio

Liverpool have been linked with a summer move for Real Madrid attacker Marco Asensio, who is looking to leave the La Liga champions, but inside Anfield sources have revealed that the Reds were never interested in signing the Spaniard.

According to the  Liverpool Echo, those close to the club have dismissed the rumours, despite prior reports claiming that Asensio was willing to take a wage reduction in order to join Jurgen Klopp’s side, following the confirmation of his official price tag.

The Reds could have signed him for about £25 million, but with a multitude of alternatives in attack already at the club, it looks that the Merseyside outfit are pleased with what they’ve got and will take no further action with Asensio.
