Liverpool has joined a long list of clubs interested in signing Shakhtar Donetsk winger Mykhaylo Mudryk, although the Ukraine international has already hinted that he wants to play for Arsenal.

The 21-year-old player is constantly linked with a transfer to the Premier League. This season’s Champions League performances by the right-footed player, who typically works on the left wing, have substantially boosted his reputation.

In fact, Mudryk scored one goal and contributed two assists as Shakhtar defeated RB Leipzig 4-1 in week one.

On matchday two against Celtic, he scored the equalizing goal to enable the Ukrainian team remain unbeaten in Group F.

At the beginning of 2022, Brentford attempted but failed to acquire Mudryk. Then, in the summer, Everton was left empty-handed after a £26 million bid was rejected.

Darijo Srna, the head of Shakhtar, confirmed Everton’s offer but stated that £26 million will not be enough to clinch his signature.

Football Insider reported that Newcastle are keeping an eye on Mudryk, but the player himself provided the clearest indication to date of where he could end up if he leaves Shakhtar.

Mudryk continued when asked if there was a certain “dream club” he would like to play for, such as Real Madrid or Arsenal:

“Yes yes, it’s hard to say but Arsenal is a very good team. Very good coach, I like the way they play.”

Jacobs concluded his interview by questioning if it would be difficult to decline Arsenal’s offer.

“Yes, from my side I can’t say no. But a transfer is not only my decision and my word.”

Fabrizio Romano later reported that Shakhtar will demand approximately £43 million for Mudryk. According to the most recent report from Calciomercato, they are likely to obtain it.

The Italian publication reports that Liverpool and Sevilla have entered the competition as new bidders.

In January, it is reported that Sevilla, Liverpool, and Arsenal will all attempt to sign Mudryk.
