Liverpool receives massive injury boost as Real Madrid clash looms ahead

In recent weeks and months, Liverpool have had their fair share of bad luck and, frankly, poor performances, to the point where they are no longer in the running for the Champions League.

They still have time to turn things around, but they need signings, which they haven’t made besides Cody Gakpo, and a multitude of small things to go their way.

For example, they’ve had a lot of injury problems recently, and they’ve also had a very boring style of play, which is shocking given that we’re talking about Liverpool.

Due to either a lack of personnel or a lack of fitness among many of the team’s key players, the team lacks a multitude of resources.

Virgil Van Dijk and Roberto Firmino are two of these significant players. Well, one is more important than the other, but they are both essential to the team, and even though Firmino is no longer a starter, they would welcome his contributions off the bench if a particular situation arises.

According to new reports from Liverpool Echo via Anfield Watch, these two players have resumed training ahead of Saturday’s match against Wolves.

Van Dijk, Firmino won’t feature in Liverpool vs Wolves, but should be fit in time for the game vs Real Madrid

This is the centerpiece. Real Madrid. Both teams are currently struggling, but a lot can change in two weeks, and you never know what to expect on Champions League nights.

However, Van Dijk and Firmino will be crucial for that game, especially the Danish center-back. We recently witnessed Konate sustain an injury, so it is good news for Klopp that they have resumed training.

According to the report, they may be able to play against Everton on February 13 in the Merseyside Derby, which is positive. It will be crucial for these two to get a few reps in before the big game, given the importance of match fitness prior to such a pivotal match.
