Liverpool and Arsenal may compete for the services of Marcus Thuram of Borussia Monchengladbach.

The forward is currently performing well in the Bundesliga, but with one year remaining on his contract with his current club, he has being targeted for a possible January transfer.

League rivals Liverpool have been added to the list of potential bidders for a transfer in 2023, according to German publication FussballTransfers. In recent days, it became clear that we were prepared to make a move for his signing.

Emile Smith Rowe has had trouble proving his fitness, and Arsenal  failed to bring in a replacement for Nicolas Pepe, who was allowed to depart on loan in August, so it seems likely that they will be looking to reinforce their  wide attacking areas in January.

Thuram may be an intriguing possibility, given that he can play in any of the three primary offensive positions, and would provide competition for Jesus as well as on the flanks.

With 10 goals and three assists already this season, he might play a significant part in helping  Gunners continue to build a genuine challenge for the crown this season.

Thuram is the son of the legendary Lilian Thuram. Lilian, the most-capped player in the history of les Bleus, was recognized as one of the best defenders of his period, winning the 1998 FIFA World Cup and the UEFA Euro 2000.
