Liverpool player that Jurgen Klopp thinks is ‘unbelievable’ is ‘fed up and wants to get out’
According to reports, Fabio Carvalho, the playmaker for Liverpool, is said to be dissatisfied with his current situation and desires to depart from the club this summer.
While Liverpool had initially planned to loan the 20-year-old, Carvalho apparently prefers a permanent transfer, despite receiving high praise from Jurgen Klopp.
Carvalho, who joined Liverpool from Fulham last summer in a deal valued at £5 million with potential add-ons, has had limited opportunities at the club. Despite being a promising player for the Portugal under-21 team, he has had minimal game time this season and has grown frustrated with his lack of reward for the effort he puts into training.
The young attacker has only made 13 appearances in the Premier League, mostly as late substitute appearances, amounting to a total of just 341 minutes on the field.
As a result, there are reports suggesting that Carvalho is considering pushing for a departure from Liverpool. Several European clubs are supposedly keeping an eye on his situation, and even Jurgen Klopp hinted at a brewing issue when he praised Carvalho’s remarkable work rate. This sentiment is also reflected within Carvalho’s camp, as mentioned by podcaster Jack Collins.
He told the Ranks FC podcast: “He is deeply unhappy with what has happened this season, that’s from a base of genuine knowledge. I can tell you he’s a very, very fed-up kid right now.
“He is very unhappy and I think there are genuine signs from his camp that he wants to get out of there permanently because he feels let down.”
RB Leipzig has already had a bid rejected for Carvalho during the current summer transfer window. It wouldn’t be surprising if the German club returns with an improved offer for the player.
Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool’s manager, has been supportive and understanding of Carvalho’s situation. He has often utilized Carvalho as a number 10 in matches.
However, Klopp has openly expressed his desire to bring in additional midfielders to strengthen the squad this summer. The club is reportedly close to finalizing the signing of Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton, indicating Klopp’s intentions to bolster the midfield options.
The German boss has also praised Carvalho’s attitude in training and commitment, saying in April: “Fabio is training exceptionally, to be honest. For the situation in which he is now, in training on an absolutely super level and not being involved, how he deals with it, I have to say, that’s kind of a role model. Not that he is happy with the situation, but he never gives up. It’s unbelievable.
“I don’t think it was probably his best skill before he arrived here because he was this super, super talent — which he still is — but the character he shows here is exceptional.”
Since Jurgen Klopp has acknowledged his awareness of Carvalho’s increasing dissatisfaction, it remains uncertain whether the Liverpool manager will sanction Carvalho’s permanent departure or explore options to provide him with more opportunities in the upcoming season.
The decision will likely depend on how Klopp evaluates the situation and weighs it against the club’s overall plans and objectives.
