Liverpool handed triple injury boost progressing into Arsenal encounter

Liverpool have received a three-injury boost ahead of their Premier League match against Arsenal on Saturday.

Prior to the international break, the Reds were missing several players, including Sadio Mane, Jordan Henderson, and Andrew Robertson, who all suffered knocks.

Robertson has yet to return to training following a hamstring injury, but Mane and Henderson were spotted in Tuesday’s session, according to the club’s update.

James Milner, who had been out with a hamstring injury, was also back in action. The trio are widely expected to be named to the matchday squad to face Arsenal at the weekend.

Yesterday, however, there was no sign of Roberto Firmino, Curtis Jones, or Naby Keita. Jones suffered an eye injury this month and will require additional time to recover.

Harvey Elliott, meanwhile, has returned to light training just two months after dislocating his ankle against Leeds United. He might not be able to return until January.

The Reds have been plagued by injuries in the first half of the season, but the return of Mane, Henderson, and Milner is a significant boost ahead of the Gunners clash.

With Robertson potentially out, Jurgen Klopp may rely on Milner’s experience at left-back, though Kostas Tsimikas has previously impressed against Arsenal.

On Saturday, Henderson is expected to start in one of the central midfield positions, while Mane is expected to start in attack alongside Diogo Jota and Mohamed Salah.

Mane has a strong scoring record against Arsenal. He has scored seven goals in his previous 14 league games, six of which have come with the Reds.

Earlier this month, it appeared that the Merseyside club was facing a major injury crisis, but they are now in better shape for Mikel Arteta’s side’s visit.

The Reds have performed admirably against the Gunners at Anfield, and have not lost a league game to the north London club since the 2012/13 season.

After a 3-2 loss at West Ham United, they should be favorites to get back on track.
