Liverpool eventually reaches an official agreement with Premier League winner.
Liverpool made a formal announcement on Monday afternoon to declare that they have reached an agreement with Adrian over a contract prolongation ahead of the 2021/22 Premier League season.
Sports Dias understands that the new deal is a two-year deal and will not constitute a raise on his £50,000 a week wages.
Speaking to the club’s media team, the Spaniard stated: “I’m delighted, I’m very happy to stay in the club.
“Firstly, because it’s a reward from the club for the hard work that I’ve been doing since I signed two years ago. I really appreciate that confidence from the club, from the manager and from everyone involved in that situation.
“And secondly, and above all of that, it’s a pleasure to stay in Liverpool – it’s such a big club. But being as well a family club, it’s very special for any player to stay here. I am privileged.”

Adrian conquered the Premier League with Liverpool in 2019/20 and was in discussions over a new contract for a few months and notwithstanding taking his time to examine offers to return to Spain, he has ultimately reached an official agreement with the club over an extension.
Liverpool are no longer working on sending Caoimhin Kelleher on loan so Adrian will be no.3 next season.
There are issues over Adrian’s ability and should Alisson suffer an injury next term, he will once again be put to the test but as we saw against Aston Villa during the 7-2 thumping in October.
While he’s not presumed to score from corners every week, Alisson’s value to Liverpool is not up for debate and his fitness next season will be critical to the Reds prospects of once again daring for the Premier League title.
Because he’s made plenty of errors with his distribution, Alisson has lost a little bit of admiration from those not connected with Liverpool but the Brazilian is a world-class ‘keeper and will likely return to his peerless best next season.
Having Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate matched in central defense will be very valuable next season while Fabinho returning to the no.6 position permanently will see Alisson given the decorous protection.
