Liverpool can recruit the ‘next Mesut Ozil’ for £25 million, but Jurgen Klopp has a transfer conundrum with Arsenal
There are only a little more than two months until the summer transfer window closes.
Naturally, even if it appears that Julian Ward has ended Liverpool’s incoming business this summer, rumours will persist.
The credibility of stories varies depending on the individual, but Liverpool’s latest rumoured target might be a fascinating prospect for the Reds.
He is also a star for the future rather than the present, which is consistent with how Julian Ward and FSG have operated in recent seasons.
Liverpool are keeping a careful eye on the exciting Fenerbahce star, Arda Guler, who is also desired by Arsenal, according to Turkish website Aksam.
Fenerbahçe are reportedly demanding a sum of around £25 million for the 17-year-old, who is already a regular part of the club’s first squad despite being born in 2005.
Güler made 16 first-team appearances for the club last season, mostly as a substitute in the second half of the season.
Güler is most commonly utilised as an attacking midfielder and has been labelled the “next Mesut Ozil” (the German is also at Fenerbahçe for the time being), but he is also capable of sliding deeper into midfield and playing on either flank.
His ability to make an impact despite little playing time was his most outstanding quality during his debut season.

Güler appeared in 373 minutes of first-team action but scored three goals and assisted five times, averaging 1.93 goals per 90 minutes.
Güler is the real deal, an accomplished dribbler who is difficult to stop and a pure creator with the capacity to create opportunities from nowhere while also posing a goal threat.
However, whether Liverpool would be the best move for his growth is debatable.
Jurgen Klopp would want to add such an exciting youngster to his squad, but the Reds already have players like Harvey Elliott, Fábio Carvalho, and Curtis Jones who play in a similar position.
The aforementioned trio would almost certainly stifle Güler’s transition to first-team football at Anfield, and while the lure of Liverpool will be difficult to resist, the Turkish youth international may find other opportunities more appealing outside of Liverpool, where he would be guaranteed the playing time required for his continued development.
However, given his talent, Liverpool should keep a careful eye on his development in the coming years.
Güler is the biggest prospect in international football for his generation, and if he continues to improve, his ceiling will continue to increase, with the sky the limit for the 17-year- old’s ability.
