Liverpool agree to Ryan Gravenberch contract terms after holding transfer negotiations

Ryan Gravenberch, the Dutch midfielder who plays for Bayern Munich, has expressed his willingness to move to Anfield this summer if Liverpool make an offer.

The Reds have already had discussions with Gravenberch’s father and agent about his potential interest in leaving Bayern after only one season and joining Liverpool under the management of Jurgen Klopp.

Liverpool has been advised to commence negotiations with Bayern if they are serious about signing him. Gravenberch is currently earning £100,000 per week in Germany, which means that Liverpool would have to offer him £200,000 per week to match his current salary.

However, Liverpool appears unfazed by these figures and is hoping that Bayern will agree to a deal if they can recoup the £16.3 million they spent on him last summer when they signed him from Ajax.

Two years ago, Gravenberch won the esteemed Johan Cruyff Award, which recognizes the most promising young footballer in the Netherlands. However, despite signing for Bayern Munich last year in a cost-effective deal as his contract with Ajax was nearing its end, he has become disappointed with his limited playing opportunities in Munich.

Gravenberch’s playing time this season has been limited to just 711 minutes, which he has spread over 27 appearances. Klopp is seeking to strengthen his midfield options in order to improve his team’s performance after a disappointing season.

Liverpool had shown interest in Jude Bellingham, but they have since abandoned their pursuit of the Borussia Dortmund teenager. Liverpool has recognised that securing Bellingham’s services for a fee of £130 million or more would exhaust most of Klopp’s transfer budget for the summer.

Gravenberch has represented the Netherlands national team on 11 occasions, and only five players have made their debut at a younger age than him. He is also one of three brothers who all play professional football.

Gravenberch is flattered by Liverpool’s interest, particularly after experiencing a downturn in his form under Bayern’s coach Julian Nagelsmann.

Despite club officials advising him to be patient, Gravenberch has only appeared in one of Thomas Tuchel’s first four games as coach, coming off the bench for a brief 10-minute appearance in a 1-1 draw with Hoffenheim last Saturday.

However, Tuchel has spoken highly of him, which has given Gravenberch hope that he can revive his career under new management.
