‘Liverpool 8 nil’: Some Reds supporters react to what they’re hearing from Porto camp
Liverpool fans have reacted on Twitter to the possibility that Pepe will miss Porto’s Champions League match on Tuesday.
Sergio Conceicao, head coach of Porto, told Tribune Express that they will wait until the “last minute” to see if their 38-year-old veteran can play against the free-scoring Reds.
Conceicao also confirmed that Pepe ‘didn’t train’ on Monday and that his hard-hitting talents will be missed at Estadio do Dragao tonight.
Liverpool fans have had a mixed reaction to the news, with some believing he will play and others believing it gives Jurgen Klopp the opportunity to play a weaker side.
Pepe may be nearing the end of his trophy-laden career, which included four Champions League titles, but his deft antics are required in a game like this.
Liverpool will undoubtedly come out firing against the Portuguese giants, with or without Pepe.
Klopp’s players have been involved in some dramatic games this season, including a 3-3 draw at Brentford over the weekend and a 3-2 win over AC Milan on the first night of the Champions League.
If Pepe sits this one out, it will be a surprise if the Merseyside club leaves Portugal without scoring at least one goal.
But, on the other hand, if the former Real Madrid man is playing, it just adds more spice, tension, and entertainment to the game because he can do anything silly or spectacular at any given time.
