Kulusevski’s friend claims Spurs player told him Conte was not the problem
Panagiotis Louka, a former teammate and friend of Dejan Kulusevski, has hinted that Kulusevski’s fate at Tottenham is uncertain as the summer transfer window approaches. Tottenham currently has the option to purchase Kulusevski’s loan for €35m (£30.5m), which is set to end this summer.
According to a recent report by Goal Italia, Tottenham may not opt to sign Kulusevski permanently due to the team’s probable failure to finish in the top four of the Premier League.
The report claims that missing out on Champions League qualification would restrict Tottenham’s transfer funds, and the final decision regarding the player’s future is expected to be made by the club’s next head coach.
Louka, who used to play with Kulusevski at Atalanta, has implied that Kulusevski can still excel at the Allianz Stadium if Juventus sees a place for him in their team next season. Currently playing for AEL Limassol, Louka spoke to Juve News about Kulusevski, saying:
“We spoke a week before Conte left and he revealed to me that the problem wasn’t the manager. The team must change its attitude, a change is needed.”
When asked if the winger would stay at Spurs, Louka responded: “€35m is a lot, it’s up to Tottenham to decide.
“He’s young and helped the team a lot, doing what he’s done at 23 isn’t for everyone.
“If he returns to Juventus instead, it will be a whole other story. He didn’t tell me anything, it’s too early to think about it. It will take time to figure out what to do.
“If important players like Kane were to leave Tottenham, the situation would change. Same thing at Juventus: if Di Maria doesn’t renew, there would be more room for Dejan.
“He’d be happy with Allegri. Compared to his first experience at Juve, he’s now much more sure of himself. He’s grown a lot at Tottenham.”
