Juventus enter the race for Arsenal man as Arsenal slap the asking price.
Juventus are keeping checks on Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka, should they fail to sign Sassuolo ace Manuel Locatelli this summer.
This comes from Italian outlet Calciomercato, who maintain that Xhaka has agreed on terms for a move to Jose Mourinho’s AS Roma, but the Italian club are grappling to meet the asking price.
As a result, it opens the door for a move to Juventus, who are keen to reinforce their midfield ahead of the new season, where returning manager Massimiliano Allegri will be hoping to recapture the Serie A title.
Roma have offered around £13m for Xhaka, including add-ons, but Arsenal wants more, closer to a fee of around £17m for the Swiss midfielder.
The Gunners will now understand they can take advantage of Juventus’ interest and try to create a bidding war for the player to regain as much as possible, having paid £30m for him in 2016.

Xhaka’s Arsenal form has often come under critique, but for Switzerland, he has been significant, as apparent by his display against France on Monday evening.
He dominated the midfield as Switzerland came back from 3-1 down to level before beating the reigning World Cup holders on penalties to qualify for the quarter-finals of Euro 2020, where they will face Spain.
Juventus are looking to reinforce their midfield options after a frustrating season where they finished fourth in the league, losing their grasp on the Serie A title for the first time in nine seasons.
The midfield currently consists of players like Aaron Ramsey, Rodrigo Bentancur, Weston McKennie and more, but has often come under attack for their lack of fitness or consistency.
They’ve looked to add Sassuolo’s Locatelli to the team, but a proceeding may be complicated following his heroics for Italy at Euro 2020, where he has scored two goals after a fine domestic season in his home nation.
