Jurgen Klopp sends “future” promise to current Liverpool stars ahead of summer rebuild
Jurgen Klopp is a firm believer that Liverpool is capable of producing a remarkable performance to secure a top-four finish.
He has expressed his passion for the team and has encouraged both the players and fans to work together towards achieving a spot in the Champions League next season.
Despite speculation of a potential clear-out in the summer, Klopp emphasized the importance of qualifying for elite European football to continue the team’s successful trajectory.
“We have a future together. It’s our decision how we deal with things. I know the world is a crazy place and a lot of things change, but it’s still our decision,” he explained.
“We have values and principles and all these kind of things. In our case, we don’t want to be different – we ARE different as a club, as a group altogether. So, let’s live that.”
Despite being nine points behind Tottenham, who currently hold the final Champions League spot, Klopp remains optimistic about Liverpool’s chances of finishing in the top four.
He believes that with 15 games left in the season and 45 points up for grabs, his team is capable of achieving this feat. Klopp expressed his confidence in Liverpool’s ability to overcome the odds, stating that if any club can do it, it’s them.
“Because of all the things we achieved these last years we achieved together, neither without the team nor without the crowd. Nothing. We have a future together: the immediate future from tomorrow on but there is a bigger picture as well.
“We will strike back in general but now we have to make sure that we really squeeze everything out of this season that we can get.”
On Wednesday night, Klopp’s Liverpool team will face Wolves at Anfield. The Reds are still feeling the sting of a devastating 3-0 loss to the same club just three weeks ago, which led many to predict a major overhaul of the team.
While Klopp acknowledges that there will be some changes made in the summer, he has also stated that his current players have the opportunity to demonstrate that they can still play a role in the club’s future. He even included himself in this statement, indicating that he is willing to adapt and make changes to ensure continued success for Liverpool.
When asked what he meant by ‘still have a future’, he said: “It was a general thing, and for a little moment I thought about myself as well. We will have a future together as well.
“Let’s not forget that if you quit, who cares how you behave in the last moment. You leave the room and think you will never see them again.
“But if you know at one point you have to go back then maybe you should say goodbye at least or ‘have a nice day’. That’s what I was talking about.”
As Liverpool prepares to face Wolves, Klopp has a decision to make regarding Ibrahima Konate’s potential involvement in the game. The defender has returned to training, but Klopp must determine whether he has regained sufficient match fitness to participate in the match.
