Jurgen Klopp dismissal speculation intensifies as a new frontrunner for the Liverpool job emerges as the German makes a desperate plea

Jurgen Klopp dismissal speculation intensifies as a new frontrunner for the Liverpool job emerges as the German makes a desperate plea

The status of Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool is secure for the time being, but the Reds manager confesses he is anxious to turn the tide amid mounting rumors that he will soon be fired.

The 2020 Premier League champions are in ninth place and appear like a shell of their former selves.

Indeed, they have only won four of their first 12 games, with consecutive losses to struggling Leeds and Nottingham Forest tightening the screws.

However, Liverpool and tonight’s opponents Napoli have advanced to the round of 16 of the Champions League.

However, it is in the Premier League where Liverpool must improve rapidly.

Graeme Souness blamed five players for Saturday night’s loss to Leeds, stating that Jurgen Klopp anticipated their troubles before the season began.

Currently, the Reds are closer to the bottom of the table than they are to the top. And they will require a significant improvement after the World Cup break if they are to finish in the top four.

Despite the difficulties, the Anfield board allegedly continues to support Klopp. However, rumors about Klopp’s possible dismissal have circulated this season, and Jamie Carragher offers his opinion below.

Klopp admits he is desperate to turn the club’s fortunes around. And he maintains he still possesses the drive and determination to help the Reds return to their best form.

“My job is not only being here in the moment when the sun is shining and someone gives us a trophy,” the Reds manager explained. “My job is also to be here when we are in a really rough period. And I will do that, with all I have, and if possible even more — 100 per cent.”

Jurgen Klopp makes desperate plea to hold off Liverpool judgement

Despite his desire to reverse the team’s fortunes, Klopp is acutely aware of the pressure he faces. Furthermore, he believes that no one else should be held responsible.

“Everything will be judged on me now and that is absolutely fine. When people look at me, they will say he looks tired. That is normal. But I am not. I cannot give that excuse”

Klopp is also frantically appealing for people not to judge him too fast. To he believes he deserves more time and offer judgement once the season has completed.

“I think the judgment for this will be later in the season,” said Klopp. “Or, maybe, it will be at the end of the season where we say, ‘OK, obviously now that is it for this group of players… for this manager if you want’.

“The question will be asked then but, in the moment, it is not 100 per cent fair to judge the team because we never had them all available. Especially now up front, top quality players, which isn’t helpful.

“That doesn’t mean the others are not top quality but with the number of games we had we would usually make changes and we can’t do that. It is a very similar situation in midfield for a long time. We had it pretty much everywhere.”

Klopp sack? New choice emerges as Liverpool successor

Despite Klopp’s request for more time, talk has already begun around his possible succession.

This article examines ten probable contenders for the Reds managerial position.

Indeed, the Daily Mirror has also examined the frontrunners to succeed him at the head.

Pep Lijnders, Klopp’s second-in-command, is the favorite to succeed him at Anfield.

The Dutchman has been by Klopp’s side for much of his tenure at Anfield, with the exception of a brief stint when he was in charge of NEC Nijmegen.

Thomas Tuchel, the former manager of Chelsea, is also among the candidates, as his reputation remains high despite his dismissal. He brought the Blues to the Champions League in his first few months in command.

Steven Gerrard, despite his recent expulsion from Aston Villa, allegedly remains in the running. Bayern head coach Julian Nagelsmann is also mentioned by some.

To alleviate this strain, Klopp will be desperate for a solid outcome in their next four games.

After playing Napoli, they will travel to Tottenham on Sunday evening. After facing Derby in the Carabao Cup, they will host Southampton in their final match before the World Cup.
