Jurgen Klopp delivered great news by FSG ahead of the January transfer window

Jurgen Klopp delivered great news by FSG ahead of the January transfer window

Despite FSG’s reported intention to sell the club, Liverpool’s transfer business is expected to proceed as planned, should a suitable buyer be identified.

Tom Werner, the club’s chairman, clarified the situation, confirming that despite the search for investment, “business as usual” continues.

“We’re exploring a sale, but there’s no urgency, no time frame for us, and as far as I’m concerned, it’s business as usual,” the FSG chief told the Boston Globe (in quotes carried by the Liverpool Echo).

It’s four words that should provide relief to Jurgen Klopp and the club’s recruitment team, who were concerned about the club’s ability to fund a potential January transfer.

The Reds are expected to use the upcoming transfer window to bolster a midfield unit that has struggled to perform at the highest level this season.

Given that Jude Bellingham’s move is scheduled for the following year, the scope of any business conducted during the winter window remains debatable.

We are aware that Liverpool’s January expenditures are unlikely to raise eyebrows.

Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez can therefore be ruled out as transfer targets, whereas (still injured) Konrad Laimer and Joao Gomes should be more attainable.
