He has reportedly agreed to a new contract that will keep him at Manchester City until 2028, adding five years to his current deal.
The negotiations took place on Monday between the player’s agent and the club’s representatives.
It’s expected that the young forward will receive a significant increase in his salary as a result of his impressive performances at the World Cup.
Julián Álvarez joined Manchester City from River Plate in the summer after a deal was finalized a few months prior.
While he has played a supporting role to Erling Haaland for much of the current season, he has made a positive impression whenever called upon by manager Pep Guardiola.
The young forward has scored 10 goals and provided three assists in 32 appearances across all competitions for Manchester City.
