Liverpool’s performance in the game against Bournemouth was unimpressive and Ronan Murphy made a joke afterwards that Jurgen Klopp’s attacking players had shown “solidarity” with Gary Lineker by not providing any highlights for the Match of the Day.

This came after Liverpool’s recent 7-0 victory over Manchester United, which had given them a chance to climb into the top four if they had won the Bournemouth game.

Despite a good start from Liverpool, Bournemouth scored halfway through the first half and held on for a crucial win, as they were at the bottom of the table at the start of the day.

“Huge credit to the Liverpool attackers for their solidarity with Gary Lineker by not proving any highlights for Match of the Day,” the Football Transfers journalist wrote on his official Twitter account.

Despite the controversy between Lineker, Match of the Day, and the BBC, the German coach shared his perspective on the situation following the recent game at the Vitality Stadium and made a lot of sense.

During the match, Darwin Nunez was substituted after playing for an hour without making an impact, while Cody Gakpo was unable to break through the Bournemouth defense.

Additionally, Mo Salah missed a penalty in what turned out to be a forgettable afternoon for Klopp’s team.

Tottenham’s win over Nottingham Forest has put them six points ahead of the Reds in fourth place.

With upcoming matches against Manchester City, Chelsea, and Arsenal in the next three league games, Klopp will have a better understanding of his team’s chances for a top-four finish by this time next month.
