Joao Felix has posted a message on Instagram welcoming Enzo Fernandez to Chelsea.
The World Cup champion was the focus of all of football on transfer deadline day, as it was uncertain whether his British transfer record move would be completed.
For days, Chelsea and Felix’s former club, Benfica, were unable to reach an agreement during difficult negotiations.
However, with mere minutes remaining in the January transfer window, the two clubs reached an agreement for Fernandez to move for a total of £106 million.
Fans, who were desperate for the club to acquire a midfielder despite January’s extremely busy transfer window, are undoubtedly thrilled by the transfer.
It appears that the 22-year- old’s new teammates are just as enthusiastic about the move. Felix commented with fire emojis on Fernandez’s first Instagram post as a Chelsea player.
With the loan signing of the Atletico Madrid player last month, the transfer window truly opened.
Even though the club had already signed a number of young stars, they were well aware that they needed to strengthen the starting eleven in order to salvage this season.
They probably did not anticipate how his debut would go, however. Before he was sent off for a reckless challenge, the Portugal international had an outstanding first half against Fulham.
