Joao Felix has three reasons why Arsenal is the ideal club for him to join next month

Joao Felix has three reasons why Arsenal is the ideal club for him to join next month

Joao Felix has emerged as a transfer target for Arsenal in January following Gabriel Jesus’ injury. There are several reasons why the Arsenal would be a good fit for the Portugal star.

Jesus is expected to miss almost three months of action for Arsenal after undergoing successful surgery earlier this month. Despite not scoring as many goals as he desired since his summer arrival from Manchester City, his departure will be lamented.

Felix reportedly wishes to leave Atletico Madrid in January. This season, he has appeared in only five La Liga games for Diego Simeone after falling out of favor.

Marca asserts that Arsenal are the frontrunners for his signature, ahead of teams such as Manchester United and Chelsea. Three reasons why the Gunners would be an ideal destination for him are examined by SportsDias.

Direct starting spot

If Felix were to join Arsenal, he would certainly enter the lineup immediately. This may irritate Eddie Nketiah, but Mikel Arteta cannot afford a decrease in performance with Manchester City hot on their heels.

Felix is not a traditional striker, but neither is Jesus, therefore the Gunners could benefit from this sort of forward. In the absence of Jesus, Felix would be the perfect replacement player.

Additionally, his versatility allows him to play in a variety of positions across the front line and in attacking midfield. Jesus and Felix could both play in the same starting lineup, a claim that could not be made about Jesus and Nketiah.

Reignite career

In 2019, Felix joined Atletico with an initial cost of approximately £113 million. He continues to be one of the most expensive players in history.

However, it appears that his career has yet to take off in the way that many anticipated. In 129 games for Atletico, he has scored 33 goals and assisted on 18 others.

There are indications that he may grow more productive in both areas. Arsenal may provide Felix with the means to realize his undeniable potential.

Arsenal going places

Arsenal is a young team on the ascent. This season, Arteta has started 14 of the 24 youngest Premier League starting lineups.

This fact makes it all the more amazing that they are five points ahead of City, the perennial winners. Felix, who only turned 23 last month, fits nicely into the Arsenal squad profile.

If Arteta is able to retain his core group of players, Arsenal can only move forward. The addition of stardust, such as Felix, could accelerate its ascent.
