Jesse Lingard’s brother unleashes a scathing attack on Manchester United following his brother’s farewell snub.
Manchester United’s final home game of the season, against Brentford, was more about saying farewell than presenting new players.
Juan Mata and Nemanja Matic began by saying their final goodbyes to Manchester United fans.
Fred was the first substitute to come on, and he’s not going anywhere, before there were two sentimental substitutions, Edinson Cavani and Phil Jones.
Jesse Lingard was the outlier. Lingard has played his final game in a Manchester United shirt, with just three substitutes authorized.
Lingard can’t have been pleased, and while he remains silent, his brother is not.
A letter on Instagram from his brother, who earlier chastised the club in January — as reported by The Mail – penned a harsh message criticizing every part of United.
This isn’t going to assist Lingard’s chances of playing in the final few games of the season.

The statement criticizing ‘classless’ United will divide opinion, and the conference league jibe appears to be inaccurate following this recent victory.
Lingard has undoubtedly contributed more to United than Edinson Cavani, who has only been at the club for two years, despite the fact that the 29-year-old came up through the club’s system, winning the Youth Cup and first-team trophies.
Lingard’s winning goal in the 2016 FA Cup final will go down in history as well. Lingard, on the other hand, should be long gone by now.
United could have sold him last summer or in January and declined, virtually wasting the last year of his career and jeopardizing his England ambitions.
Relations between Lingard and Ralf Rangnick don’t appear to be great, with the pair clashing over ‘time off’ granted to the player in February after his loan move was denied, and this lack of love between the pair is likely what the snub boiled down to, rather than a judgement on his contribution to the club.
Lingard missed United’s game against Chelsea last week due to ‘personal circumstances,’ but was named to the team against Brentford despite being ignored by Ralf Rangnick.
Lingard signing on a free transfer with another Premier League club this summer and returning to haunt United would not be surprising.
If he feels as bitterly as his brother, it will be the end of his career at the club.
If he does not play again, his last appearance will come as a substitute in the loss to Arsenal, with his last start coming in the win over Norwich.
Lingard has only made two Premier League starts this season, with another two coming in cup games.
