Jadon Sancho linked with a shock Man United exit with his next club hint

Jadon Sancho is omitted from Manchester United’s vacation to Spain this week, and reports in Germany indicate he could be a reinforcement for Borussia Dortmund.

With much excitement, Sancho moved toManchester United from Borussia Dortmund. Since his transfer in 2021, the €85 million acquisition has struggled to replicate the form he demonstrated in the Bundesliga.

This season, the London-born forward has shown flashes of brilliance against Liverpool, where he scored the game-winning goal, and against Leicester City.

This season, Sancho has appeared in just 10 Premier League games, and he was notably left out of Gareth Southgate’s England selection for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Sancho has already been omitted from the Manchester United squad traveling to Spain. He will instead undergo an individual training program.

United confirmed this in a statement: “The Reds will prepare for the resumption of the domestic campaign later this month by playing two friendlies, away to La Liga sides Cadiz and Real Betis. Jadon Sancho is continuing his training programme as part of a process to get back to his highest level. The club is fully supporting him in this.”

Sancho has missed one month of action so far this season, and the individual training program is certainly designed to get Sancho match-fit, but is there more to the England international being omitted from Manchester United’s squad for their trip to Spain?

Since losing Sancho in the summer of 2021, Borussia Dortmund’s wide areas, namely the right flank, have been a crucial area of concern.

Jamie Bynoe-Gittens has made only four appearances this season, while Karim Adeyemi has been injured for two months and is failed to make an impact. Thorgan Hazard has been relegated to the bench and has yet to return to form, whereas Marius Wolf has played the majority of his games in defense.

Numerous times throughout the years, Dortmund has effectively employed the strategy of bringing back players for a substantial discount relative to their initial compensation. Nuri Sahin returned to Real Madrid in 2013, Shinji Kagawa was purchased back from Manchester United for €14 million after being sold for €22 million, Mario Gotze was sold for €37 million and returned to Bayern Munich for €22 million in 2016, and Mats Hummels returned to Bayern in 2019 for €30 million after being sold for €38 million. It’s a strategy that’s worked for BVB in the past. Gotze was the only player who struggled to assimilate upon his return, making just 75 games before leaving for PSV in 2020.

Sancho’s transfer to Manchester United in the summer of 2021 was a disastrous decision for all parties involved. His departure from Borussia Dortmund created a gaping void on the wing. In turn, Manchester United is disappointed with his performances. Particularly after being omitted from the England squad, the player is unsettled.

Ruhr24 goes on to suggest that Sancho’s consideration of a return to the Signal-Iduna-Park is prompted by a highly unpleasant situation. Almost two weeks ago, the 22-year-old effectively deleted his Instagram account overnight. He erased all of his posts and obscured his profile picture without explanation.

There was considerable speculation in the English media regarding the causes. Some interpret it as a protest against the problematic World Cup, while others view it as a jab at Southgate for not selecting him for the tournament. Others say that Sancho is taking a break from social media to prepare for his departure from the “Red Devils.” The precise explanation remains unknown.

The next Monday, Sancho unexpectedly reactivated his account. The winger has not yet submitted his contributions since then, but his profile now has a new mysterious detail. He uploaded two images to the links area. Both date back to his tenure at BVB.

One depicts him celebrating a goal alongside Dortmund captain Marco Reus, while the other shows him with his team in front of the Yellow Wall.

The presence of these two images on Sancho’s profile, which is otherwise completely empty, is peculiar. Some BVB supporters read this as a “come get me” call to Dortmund.

A transfer makes great sense from a sporting perspective for both parties. For a future return, the former Dortmund player would have to make major financial sacrifices. Sancho is one of the highest-paid players at Old Trafford, reportedly earning €18 million per season. This is three times Sancho’s previous salary in Dortmund.

A return to the atmosphere in which he excelled as a player could be quite appealing to the winger. United, on the other hand, has a deal until 2026 with a one-year extension option. The transfer fee may be exorbitant for the former Manchester City youth player.

Christian Pulisic of Chelsea, however, is a winger who could come within BVB’s financial reach. This week, Bild reported that the young American international could “easily envision” a return to Dortmund. Pulisic’s performance has fluctuated since his transfer to Chelsea, and he is reported to have been upset by the September departure of former Dortmund manager Thomas Tuchel.

However, he had a good World Cup with the United States, which advanced to the round of 16. The Hershey, Pennsylvania-born winger, who can also play midfield, would have to take a significant pay cut in order for the trade to occur. Pulisic’s annual salary of €11 million at Chelsea would place him among the highest-paid players at BVB, with Marco Reus and Niklas Süle. The fact that an alleged Chelsea insider told Sports Illustrated that Pulisic’s asking price would likely be “modest” should be encouraging for Borussia Dortmund.

Hans-Joachim Watzke, the CEO of Borussia Dortmund, stated this week that the club is unlikely to be active on the transfer market in January. Both Sancho and Pulisic are well-known to Edin Terzic and would be well-received by Signal-Iduna-Park fans. The wing is a critical position for Dortmund to strengthen, since they have already done so well. However, it remains to be seen whether the budget will be realistic.
