Martin Odegaard, the captain of Arsenal, has expressed his surprise at the coaching abilities of Mikel Arteta and his staff when he joined the club on loan from Real Madrid in January 2021.

Arsenal has undergone a remarkable transformation under the leadership of Mikel Arteta. Since taking charge in December 2019, the Spaniard has guided the Gunners to an FA Cup victory in just eight months. Despite facing numerous challenges since then, his work this season has been truly exceptional.

Currently, Arsenal is leading the Premier League table with an eight-point advantage over Manchester City. There is a real possibility that they could go on to win the league title this season, and Arteta and his coaching staff deserve immense credit for their achievements.

When asked about Arteta and the Arsenal coaching staff, Martin Odegaard expressed his astonishment at their abilities.

He told TV 2 in Norway: “It has surprised me, actually. How detail-oriented he and the whole team are.

“I’ve never encountered anything like it, with people who see football that way and who see details as specifically as he does. It can be simple little things or more big things. It’s extremely detailed and a lot of little things we talk about, watching videos after every game and all that.

“It’s fun working with him and the team. It works.”

Despite having worked with top-class coaches like Carlo Ancelotti and Zinedine Zidane at Real Madrid, Martin Odegaard was impressed by Mikel Arteta’s coaching approach. This speaks volumes about Arteta’s impact at Arsenal.

Arteta, who earns a salary of £160,000 per week, has brought about a complete transformation at Arsenal, both on and off the field. The team is now playing attractive football and is one of the most resilient teams in the country. Furthermore, the team’s mentality and culture have undergone a complete overhaul, with even inexperienced players performing like seasoned professionals.

Perhaps the most significant change Arteta has brought about is winning over the fans. The Emirates Stadium has become a fortress, and the unwavering support from the fans, both at home and away matches, has made Arsenal an even tougher team to beat this season.
