“It’s time” Shock Cristiano Ronaldo Man United exit detail emerge after Lisbon Sporting Director speaks

Cristiano Ronaldo speculation has taken another turn as Sporting Lisbon director of football Hugo Viana stated that the veteran could return to his boyhood club before the close of his career.

This comes after the former Real Madrid and Juventus star was linked with a move away from  Manchester United, with reports suggesting he could join Chelsea.

Last week, new Chelsea owner Todd Boehly met with Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes and discussed a prospective trade.

However, Viana, a former Newcastle United player, believes that United should focus on developing a system in which Ronaldo can thrive under new manager Erik ten Hag.

“It’s time for Man United to stabilise and create a good spirit inside the club,” Viana told Sky Sports News.

“From what I can see from the outside it’s not time [for Ronaldo to leave]. There is always time to rebuild everything. In Cristiano there is a player who scores 20, 25 for sure per season. it’s really important to have those kind of goals in the team.”

Viana was reticent when asked if Sporting would make a move this summer, but he did hint that a romantic homecoming could happen one day.

“Not now, I don’t think that will be possible,” Viana said when asked whether Sporting could approach Ronaldo about a possible return this summer.

“But we never know. He can decide where he can go. But you never know the future. I don’t want to talk a lot about that because when we speak about Cristiano it is quite different. I think he has one more year on his contract, so whatever he decides, let’s see.”
