“It hurts me”… BBC pundit predicts Manchester United to secure famous victory over Liverpool at Anfield

Manchester United  is set to play in the Premier League after participating in Europa League, Carabao Cup, and FA Cup matches.

They are facing Liverpool in what is expected to be an exciting game between the two teams.

While it’s too early to talk about the title race, a win against Liverpool could potentially change that.

The main priority is to beat Jurgen Klopp’s team, who have recently moved up in the rankings after previously dropping as low as ninth place.

Manchester United players are feeling confident in their abilities to win against any team, including Liverpool, following Liverpool’s 5-2 home loss to Real Madrid which demonstrated that they are still vulnerable to defeat.

Last season, Manchester United suffered a one-sided 4-0 defeat at Anfield, where Paul Pogba was substituted after just 10 minutes due to an injury. Additionally, Phil Jones played his final game for the club in that match, although he is still under contract. The only positive takeaway from the game was Hannibal’s passionate but reckless performance, which resulted in a booking.

However, this time around, Manchester United is determined to compete at Anfield, especially since they have already beaten Liverpool 2-1 at Old Trafford and 4-0 in a pre-season match.

If Manchester United wins the game against Liverpool, they will increase their lead over Liverpool from 10 to 13 points, and also move closer to securing a spot in the Champions League.

A victory would also give them the momentum to start competing with teams like City and Arsenal at the top of the table. On the other hand, a loss would mean that they will have to keep an eye on the teams behind them.

BBC Sport pundit Chris Sutton predicts a United win, suggesting that Erik ten Hag’s in-form side can exploit Liverpool’s defensive vulnerabilities.

He is predicting a 2-1 win for Manchester United at Anfield, explaining: “United are just so clinical in front of goal, though, and Rashford could be the difference.

“Right now, I just see him scoring every time he plays. It hurts me to see United back and playing well again, but it is good for the Premier League.”
