‘Interesting’: Peter Schmeichel reveals what he noticed about Klopp on Liverpool touchline
Peter Schmeichel has alleged that it was ‘interesting’ to watch Jurgen Klopp on Liverpool’s touchline during their 3-2 victory against AC Milan on Wednesday night, as he told Paramount+ on CBS Sports (15/09/21 at 10:15 pm).
The former goalkeeper stated that it is fascinating how Klopp ‘directs his players all the time’, as Liverpool opened their Champions League account for this season with three points.
It was a pretty hard and nervy game for those in Red because, after a difficult star for the Italian giants, they came back fighting.
Despite that scare towards the back end of the first half, a perfectly-timed shot from Jordan Henderson quickly saw the home supporters celebrating a winner.
Nonetheless, Schmeichel liked the look of Liverpool and thinks this could be a ‘very good season’ for those on Merseyside.
“It’s also interesting to watch Jurgen Klopp on the touchline,” said Schmeichel. “How he directs his players all the time.

“Or how flexible and dynamic that system is, every time AC Milan changed it a little bit. I think he also changed that.
“I think Liverpool looks more like the finished product (compared to AC Milan). He has got all the players that were injured last season, apart from Firmino.
“They are back. They won the championship two seasons ago because they were the best team. They look strong. If they can keep their players fit then it could be a very good season for them.”
Liverpool assuredly aren’t being talked as much as their opponents are, both in the Premier League and in the Champions League.
One of the reasons for that is they didn’t join the craziness of the recently-concluded summer transfer window.
From Lionel Messi to Cristiano Ronaldo, the likes of PSG, both Manchester clubs, and Chelsea, threw big money at players this summer.
But for Liverpool, it was a rather quiet window, as they concentrated on penning down their players to new deals.
Given that superstar player didn’t arrive, perhaps they aren’t talked about as much, but that makes them more dangerous because their strongest XI is as good as anyone.
