‘Incorrect’ – Pundit argues Tottenham were ‘robbed’ vs Sporting

Jamie O’Hara, a former Spurs player and commentator for TalkSPORT, said that Tottenham were ‘robbed’ last night in the Champions League after Harry Kane’s late goal was disallowed by VAR.

Despite another subpar performance, the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium erupted in the 95th minute when Kane scored against Sporting Lisbon to give the Lilywhites all three points.

However, VAR examined the goal for the following five minutes and ultimately overturned it, resulting in a 1-1 tie before Conte was issued a red card for reacting to the decision.

A win over Sporting, along with Eintracht Frankfurt’s 2-1 victory over Marseille, would have pushed Tottenham through as Group D champions.

Unfortunately, the Lilywhites now require a draw against Marseille on the road to secure safe passage and a win to guarantee first place.

O’Hara, commenting on the game on Sports Bar, was unhappy with the VAR’s judgment, arguing it was just inaccurate (TalkSPORT).

He said: “Spurs get absolutely robbed… ROBBED by VAR.

“I was running around the office five minutes ago. Honestly, what am I seeing? It’s not offside!

“The law has got it wrong. It’s wrong. It’s incorrect. The more I look at it, the more Harry Kane is offside.”
