“I’m pretty sure.” Jurgen Klopp reveals what injured Liverpool star has told him
Jurgen Klopp, manager of Liverpool, has assured the club’s official website that Joel Matip’s injury suffered against Watford at Anfield is not serious.
On Saturday, Klopp’s Liverpool defeated Watford 2-0 at Anfield in the Premier League.
Centre-back Matip started the game and stayed on the field for the complete 90 minutes.
Liverpool’s star sustained an injury, which Klopp claims is not serious, confirming what Matip has told him.
Klopp told Liverpool’s official website: “Joel Matip had a proper [knock], it looked like a golf ball here [on his head] but it was nothing serious, it was just a bruise and had swollen up a little bit.
“He said he was completely fine, that’s why we had the strapping there. That’s it, I’m pretty sure.”
The fact that Matip’s injury was not significant, in our opinion, is a great plus for Liverpool, who are aiming to win the Premier League, the Champions League, and the FA Cup this season.
The Carabao Cup was also won by Liverpool.
In the next weeks, the Reds will play Benfica, Manchester City, Manchester United, Everton, and Newcastle United.
Klopp will undoubtedly be concerned if any of his players are hurt right now, especially someone as essential as Matip.
This season, the 30-year-old has one goal and two assists in 24 Premier League games for Liverpool.
This season, the Liverpool no. 32 has also appeared six times in the Champions League and four times in the Carabao Cup.
