“Offers have to be very aggressive if they want us to sell a top player like Tchouameni”.
The Frenchman is said to be one of two midfield targets being pursued by the Reds, with the club seeking to increase its portfolio of alternatives in the middle of the park.
According to Empire of the Kop sources, a sum of £50-66 million might capture the 22-year-signature old’s when the next transfer window opens.
Given that they Liverpool appear to have a forward role in mind for Fabio Carvalho (albeit the adolescent is capable of playing in midfield), it is especially important that they strive to secure the future of the midfield.
With players like James Milner, Jordan Henderson, and Thiago Alcantara in their 30s, Tchouameni would be an excellent alternative to reduce the average age of their squad.
For the time being, Liverpool have plenty of quality and depth in the centre of the field, but Klopp must consider the future, keeping in mind that key players like Thiago, Milner, and captain Henderson are veterans.
It should be noted that the Reds have not yet replaced Gini Wijnaldum. The Dutch midfielder was one of Klopp’s most significant players.
