Ian Wright’s perplexing video after Gunners Southampton’s defeat ‘gives Arsenal fans shivers’
Arsenal supporters were perplexed after Ian Wright posted an odd video of himself singing in his car in response to the Gunners’ defeat by Southampton on Saturday.
Arsenal were defeated 1-0 at St Mary’s, their fourth defeat in their last five Premier League games.
After the visitors failed to clear a corner, Jan Bednarek scored the game’s only goal at the end of the first half.
The Gunners dominated the second half, but were thwarted by Southampton goalkeeper Fraser Forster, who was in fine form.
Arsenal’s chances of finishing in the top four were dashed by the gigantic keeper, who denied Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith Rowe, and Granit Xhaka.
Manchester United’s 3-2 victory over Norwich dropped Arsenal to sixth place, putting even more pressure on their game against Chelsea on Wednesday.
Arsenal icon Wright responded angrily to the defeat at St Mary’s by sharing a bizarre video on Twitter.
In it, Wright can be seen singing along to the Simon & Garfunkel classic “Bridge Over Troubled Water” while driving his automobile.
Wright has become well-known for his hilarious videos following Arsenal games, but this one had us scratching our heads.

That didn’t stop it from hitting some Gunners fanatics hard. “This gave me goosebumps,” replied one person.
“You should audition for the x factor wrighty !!! You are a class act man,” added another.
“You’re making me choke up Wrighty…” joked another. “Don’t make me go crying bro,” wrote one Arsenal fan.
Unsurprisingly, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta was dissatisfied with the outcome, comparing his team’s misfortune to a basketball game.
“Difficult to explain because this is football, not basketball,” he said in his post-match press conference. “Because any other sport you win the game very comfortably and you’re talking about different things.
“Difficult to explain but at the end of the day it’s decided in the boxes. They scored one goal, we didn’t. For the amount of time that we spent around the box it shows that we have a situation, we didn’t put them in the goal.
“Because they have an exceptional goalkeeper today and because we didn’t have enough quality and enough capacity to break them down when we had the numbers and the situations open to do so.”
