Ian Wright pinpoints five Arsenal players who have the potential to become brilliant and reach the very top of the game
Ian Wright told UMM that Arsenal have five players in their squad who are capable of reaching the pinnacle of the game right now.
Mikel Arteta’s young Arsenal team has begun to show their worth in recent weeks, and momentum is building at the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal have begun to impress after a shaky start to the season, with Arteta’s squad all appearing to buy into the manager’s principles.
And Wright is optimistic about the club’s future, especially given the amount of talent on the rise in North London.
“He’s the present as well, we need him, we need him so much,” Wright said about Bukayo Saka.
“That’s why when I said he’s burdened with glorious purpose you know, because we’re talking about someone who’s come through the academy. Everybody knew what he was capable of when he was a youngster.
“He’s come through, he’s answered all the questions, he’s got himself into England, he’s arguably our best player.
“We need him (Saka), obviously Emille Smith Rowe coming through, Odegaard, Ben White you know, Sami Lakonga. We’ve got a lot of players now with a high ceiling. And if they can reach their potential, we’ve got some super players bro.”
Saka and Smith Rowe are arguably Arsenal’s crown jewels right now.
The academy graduates have risen through the ranks at Hale End to become important first-team players.
Smith Rowe appears to have begun to add goals to his game, and Saka made his 100th appearance for the club in the weekend’s 2-0 win over Leicester City.
Arsenal’s progress has seen them rapidly climb the Premier League table, with optimism growing about where they might finish this season.
The Gunners are currently sixth in the Premier League table, three points out of the top four.
