“I wouldn’t write them off” Bayern Munich’s Thomas Muller of makes a daring prediction for the Champions League final between Liverpool and Real Madrid
When asked by German source Tz who he thought will win Saturday’s Champions League final between Liverpool and Real Madrid, Bayern Munich player Thomas Müller paused before responding.
Müller was candid about whose team he thought was superior and how the game would unfold.
“I have the impression that Liverpool are better. But with what Real Madrid did recently in the league and Champions League, I wouldn’t write them off. I predict a 2-2 draw and Liverpool to win on penalties,” Müller said.
The German players’ allegiances may also be torn for this match. With former teammates on both teams, Müller probably didn’t want to play favourites while responding.
Real Madrid, of course, has David Alaba, while Liverpool has Thiago Alcantara, a former Bayern Munich midfielder.
For the second time in recent years, Liverpool and Real Madrid will meet in the Champions League final, with the Spanish team earning the title in 2018.
Last season, the two sides met in the same competition’s quarterfinals, with Madrid winning 3-1 on aggregate before being ousted by eventual winners Chelsea.
