‘I was watching’: Gary Neville reveals what he spotted Thiago doing when he came off against United
Gary Neville revealed on his podcast what he saw Thiago Alcantara doing when he was substituted against Manchester United.
The Spaniard had a great time against the Red Devils, and he put on a clinic at Anfield, running rings around United’s sluggish midfield.
Thiago’s every touch was of high quality, and his movement and passing range helped Liverpool completely dominate the middle of the park.
The Spaniard was finally replaced in the second half, and Neville, who was watching from the gantry, noted that the midfielder was laughing out loud when he came off the pitch.
Neville mentioned what Thiago did when he exited. “What Liverpool have done is, they’ve toyed with Manchester United. I was watching Thiago and Salah doing an interview, Thiago was laughing when he came off the pitch, he was laughing at them all game,” Neville said.
The fact that Thiago was laughing when he was taken off demonstrates how bad Manchester United were against Liverpool.
Thiago looked like he was just having a kickabout with his buddies down the pitch at Anfield on Tuesday, despite the fact that he had been substituted against United after being in a brawl in the middle.
We’re not surprised he was laughing on his way to the bench; his role in the midfield appeared to be a lot of fun to play, and we’re sure he can’t wait to play against this United team again in the future.
