“I Support Arsenal…” Serie A Captain Discloses His Allegiance To The Gunners
Morten Hjulmand, a midfielder for Lecce, has confessed that he is an Arsenal fan and is thrilled with the team’s improvement under manager Mikel Arteta.
The Dane is the captain of Lecce, which is quite an accomplishment considering he is only 23 years old. Despite loving his time in Italy, he confesses he would love to play for Arsenal in the Premier League.
“I’m crazy about the Premier League, I support Arsenal. Arteta has changed everything in two years, the mentality, now they play very well. Great intensity. Greater than in Serie A which I like a lot because I see very strong players with so much quality.”
Hjulmand will not be at the World Cup, and he has yet to earn a senior cap for Denmark. However, he has already been called up previously, and it appears that it is just a matter of time before he makes his debut.
Other clubs, including Napoli and Roma, have taken note of his performances, and, given that he is a holding midfielder, it might be argued that Arsenal should also be keeping a careful eye on him.
Due to Thomas Partey’s injury history, they could use additional coverage at that position, and Hjulmand could be an option.
