How the Manchester United players reacted to defeating Everton at Old Trafford
Yesterday, Manchester United defeated the survival-seeking Toffees 2-0 at Old Trafford.
Even though Scott McTominay and Anthony Martial scored two goals, the victory could have easily been by five or six goals if the players had their shooting boots on.
Jordan Pickford once again demonstrated why he is England’s No. 1 as he was unquestionably Everton’s Man of the Match after his numerous saves kept the Toffees in the match until Manchester United finally scored.
Erik ten Hag’s need for a prolific striker in the summer was underscored by a lack of clinical finish in front of goal.
Still, a win is a win, and United’s position in the top-four race was significantly strengthened by the three points. Maintaining momentum this month is also essential, as the upcoming games will determine the season’s outcome.
United is currently in fourth place and is tied with Newcastle in points. In addition, they are three points ahead of fifth-place Tottenham Hotspur with a game in hand.
