How Manchester United squad will look like after the transfer window shuts

How  Manchester United squad will look like after the transfer window shuts

If Facundo Pellistri’s or Anthony Elanga’s agents lacked leverage in this transfer window prior to Sunday, Erik ten Hag provided it.

Ten Hag shrugged and acknowledged, On the bench we are limited in offence, we know that,.” Elanga, who started four consecutive games in August and September, hasn’t scored for his club since February 22. A fortnight ago against Charlton in League Two, Pellistri played 11 lively minutes for United.

As the final week of the transfer window approaches, United’s most notable departure of the month is Shola Shoretire, who only appeared in three matchday squads. Unless a significant injury occurs, United’s end of the month will likely be uneventful.

Without scoring, Anthony Martial’s value is increasing. When he has a string of consecutive starts, he is inconsistent. United would flow more easily through Wout Weghorst, but the tap remains closed. Last week, the Dutch forward posed no goal threat south or north of the Thames.

The unwillingness to release Elanga or Pellistri is more understandable than the unwillingness to utilize Pellistri. Ten Hag is not hesitant to use Weghorst in United’s attack, despiUnited will continue to struggle with putting the ball in the net until the end of the season. Marcus Rashford is in the best form of his career, and his Premier League goals have already secured 18 points. He is the star of an attack with an insufficient supporting cast.

United’s most effective left-footed player is in the Championship. Amad scored his seventh goal of the season in Sunderland’s 2-0 victory over Middlesbrough, and there is support for his recall, although Ten Hag has no plans to do so.

Antony, who has not scored in the Premier League in over three months, is monotonous, self-indulgent, and predictable. After United’s winning streak granted the Brazilian a reprieve, his form will now be suitably scrutinized due to two losses and two withdrawals.

Ten Hag reiterated for the umpteenth time at Arsenal that Jadon Sancho is “improving but it must go step by step.” Rashford is more immovable on the left than Sancho was during his purple patch last season, and the £72.9 million winger could be forced to plow his turf on the right.

Bruno Fernandes is one of the United squad’s most durable players, but Donny van de Beek’s injury will keep him sidelined until the summer. Fernandes has reworked his game under Ten Hag and is now a better player, despite his unimpressive statistics.

United are now stronger in attack than in midfield. Bookmakers lowered Arsenal’s odds of defeating United due to Casemiro’s suspension, and replacing him with Scott McTominay is akin to switching from Sean Connery to George Lazenby.

Ten Hag’s preference for a younger world-class midfielder will likely prompt a reevaluation of McTominay’s career in the summer, despite McTominay’s commitment and talent. McTominay will return to his supporting role when United’s Premier League season resumes on February 4 against Crystal Palace. Kobbie Mainoo has supplanted Zidane Iqbal as the preferred midfielder.

Despite having conceded three avoidable goals against Arsenal, the defense is solid. Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez form one of the best partnerships on the continent, Aaron Wan-Bissaka has finally emerged, and Tyrell Malacia has faced the league’s best left-back in Luke Shaw in a fair number of starts at left-back.

Full-back Brandon Williams is surplus to requirements and would welcome a loan move before the transfer deadline next week. Malacia and Victor Lindelof have already been utilized by Ten Hag as substitute right-backs, while Martinez is an emergency option at left-back.

The goalkeeping department will be restructured in the summer, as three players in their 30s will be out of contract and Dean Henderson’s papers may be shredded.

Axel Tuanzebe’s sluggish recovery from injury precludes a transfer before next Tuesday, but Ten Hag could utilize his versatile skill set when he is fit.

United is not restricted in certain areas.te the fact that he is not the striker United needs to bolster their numbers.

Probable post-window United squad:

Goalkeepers: De Gea, Heaton, Butland

Defenders: Dalot, Wan-Bissaka, Varane, Martinez, Lindelof, Maguire, Shaw, Malacia

Midfielders: Casemiro, Eriksen, McTominay, Fred, Mainoo

Forwards: Antony, Pellistri, Sancho, Fernandes, Rashford, Garnacho, Elanga, Weghorst, Martial
